Denver Bariatric Surgeon - Dr. Michael Snyder
Dr. Snyder of the Denver Center for Bariatric Surgery, PC, is a board-certified surgeon in Denver who has been the president and director of the Bariatric Surgery Center at Rose Medical Center since 2002.
As an active member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and one of the leading weight-loss surgeons in the country, he has performed more than 1,500 primary bariatric surgeries, helping people overcome their difficulties with weight.
Dr. Snyder graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. After receiving his medical doctorate from the University of Miami, he completed his residency and internship in general surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University, where he first became interested in bariatric surgery. Since establishing his bariatrics practice in Denver, that interest has become his passion.
His bariatric training has been comprehensive and methodical. After becoming established and gaining considerable experience in the field of open gastric bypass surgery, he started developing his expertise and knowledge in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) bariatric procedures including laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy.
Dr. Snyder’s interest in bariatric surgery is based on his knowledge that morbid obesity is one of the most crucial, yet almost wholly ignored, diseases that physicians are exposed to every day. He believes that, for the right patient, the surgical treatment of morbid obesity is the essential therapy that can cure a myriad of ills. He has found that in his patients the results are dramatic—ranging from life-changing to life-saving.
